The important role played by the inhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equation in the current research has led to the reunification, at least in their spirit, of complex analysis in one and in several variables. We say reunification since we think that Weierstrass, Poincare, and others (in contrast to many of our students) did not consider them to be entirely separate subjects. Indeed, not only complex analysis in several variables, but also number theory, harmonic analysis, and other branches of mathematics, both pure and applied, have required a reconsidera� tion of analytic continuation, ordinary differential equations in the complex domain, asymptotic analysis, iteration of holomorphic functions, and many other subjects from the classic theory of functions of one complex variable. This ongoing reconsideration led us to think that a textbook incorporating some of these new perspectives and techniques had to be written.

Created by famed Lockheed designer Kelly Johnson, the F-104 Starfighter was designed to compete with Soviet Mig-15s. NASA continued to use the F-104 as a support aircraft until 1995. This pilot's flight operating handbook was originally produced by the USAF. It has been slightly reformatted but is reproduced here in its entirety. It provides a fascinating view inside the cockpit of one of history's great planes.

Know the F-104

Great reference book something to have if you like this aircraft. I use it to check several things on the big model that I'm rebuilding in 1/18 scale, I also have other references sources, but for rebuilding things that I don't find in other books this one helps a lot so I recommend this book to every body it also will tell you what it took to flight this (missile with the man in it,) as the F-104 was known its a great resource, but remember it may not have all you are looking for but the illustrations that have will help in what ever you need I recommend it.because it help me I think it comes to a choice but go for it.

He is also the author of Computer Programming for Geographers (with J. A. Dawson) and coeditor of Visualization in Geographic Information Systems (with Hilary M. Hearnshaw), both published by Wiley.

Good basic introduction

I bought this book to assist with me the geographic analysis of human rights violations in Zimbabwe. I have no prior experience or qualifications in geography or GIS, but have taken to the field through the necesssity of the work that I do. This book is a technical and mathematical introduction to geographical information analysis. It helps you understand the principles of eg kriging, or the different sorts of geographical data (point, line and polygon) and the kinds of analysis one can do with them. It does this fairly efficiently and it has certainly given me some ideas on possible future paths to take.
However, it is more of a technical guide to the methods than an ideas book. And although I did not understand everything on the first pass, I must say that I imagine more experienced or technical people would be rather disappointed at the depth of the content. It seems a bit simple, and is clearly aimed as an undergrad primer.

Too much history, not enough application

I read this book because it was required for a graduate level environmental science course. Although it progresses nicely, it gets caught up in the research history pertaining to every model, process etc.. It also lacks application in many instances and guidance on how to conduct the actual analysis. I would recommend this text to be used in purely geography classes and not by separate disciplines that dabble in geography.
