Very Good

This book is a great reference for anyone trying to better understand cardiovascular heart sounds. I was hesitant to purchase this book because I doubted a book would be useful in learning how to LISTEN and identify different heart sounds. I only gave this book 4 stars because a accompanying CD with example heart sounds would have been helpful. Despite the lack of audio to go along with the book I found the information very useful. This book (which is only 125 pages) covers some cardiac anatomy, the cardiac cycle, cardiac examination, heart sounds, and a lot of information regarding murmurs. Although the only real way to learn to identify heart sounds and murmurs is by actual practice I found this to be a good reference. If the author would have made a CD to go along with the book I would have given it a 5 star review.

Great book especially for review!!

The book is written such that if you follow it from cover to cover it will explain heart sounds, both normal and pathological, at the depth necessary for a primary care clinician. I purchased it to brush up for a murmur heavy PRE and realize that I will most likely flip through it again before the pance. It's very quick and well organized. I highly recommend!!
